After Warsaw scored 175 points in their first two games, the visiting Crown Point Bulldogs held the Tigers to 47 with a good defensive effort, scoring 18 points off of 20 Warsaw turnovers in the process.

The Bulldogs trailed by 3 after the first quarter, but went on a 20-13 scoring run in the 2nd to head into the locker room up by 4 at the half. The Bulldogs worked the defensive end in the third to hold the Tigers scoreless from the field and allowing just 4 points on free throws for the quarter, building a 9-point lead.

Alex Webster, Nikki Borys and Allyson Carnahan (L-R) look puzzled by the technical foul called with 3 seconds to go in the game.

That lead extended to 13 midway through the fourth, at which point the Tigers started to pick up their scoring. After putting the Bulldogs on the line to stop the clock, the gamble paid off for Warsaw when CP missed some key free throws. The Tigers were back in it, shrinking the CP lead to 45-39 with 1:30 to go. After some back and forth scoring, a clutch 3 by Warsaw's Christy Colt brought the Tigers within 2 with :03 on the clock. Oddly enough, after an illegal timeout was called by Warsaw (which they were granted anyway), and CP's Sarah Zondor canned two free throws on the technical, the clock read :05 seconds left. That wasn't enough to help the Tigers, though, as CP held on for their third win of the season.

For Crown Point, Sarah Zondor led all scorers with 20 points (3 treys) and some great rebounding, while senior Erin Plumley came off the bench and did a very fine job to make things happen with 8 points. Soph Alex Webster had a good all-around game with 13 points, 8 assists, 5 steals, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Frosh Nicole Smoljan pulled down 6 rebounds, and senior Allyson Carnahan had a good game with 6 points and two in-the-bleachers blocks.

For Warsaw, senior Jenna Rooney was tough on the boards and had 13 points, and teammate Colt matched her point for point with 6 of her 13 points coming in the critical last quarter.
