Crown Point vs. Hebron

Soph Alex Webster falls, as her shot decides to, in a flock of Hawks.

Crown Point 60, Hebron 41
The Lady Bulldogs came out blazing in an 18-1 first quarter run that was just 2 points off the final margin of the game.  A smothering defensive attack and a well-balanced offensive attack were the key elements, with six steals on pressure defense and seven different Bulldogs on the scoreboard, all in the first quarter.

The rest of the game was not as intense, as the Bulldogs pulled back on the press and Coach Tom May substituted freely throughout.  The Hawks were a tenacious and physical bunch, however, and never gave up.

Junior Sarah Zondor was leading scorer for the Bulldogs with 17 points and an all-around solid game in all categories.  Nikki Borys and Erin Plumley combined for 20 points of inspired play in the post.  Senior Allyson Carnahan had 4 points and a team-high 6 steals, and soph Alex Webster made the offense work with 11 assists and 6 points, while swatting away with two blocks.

Nine on the 11-player Bulldogs roster scored in the game and all eleven contributed to the win.

Leading scorer for Hebron was speedy guard Lauren Bechtold with 16.
