The Bulldogs were a bit wary heading into this contest against an always tough Warsaw team.  The Tigers had received some votes in the previous ICGSA poll, and this team would probably be CP's toughest test so far this season.  But there was no need to worry, as the Bulldogs immediately set the tone with a 13-2 opening run that put the Tigers on their heels.

Senior Sarah Zondor started out on fire with 11 points and 4 rebounds in the first quarter, while juniors Carissa Triplett and Ashley Plumley both chimed in with 4 points apiece to add to the overall first quarter total of 23 points for CP to 12 for Warsaw.

Senior Nikki Borys sparked the second quarter with two buckets, two assists and two rebounds in the first two minutes, but the 'Dogs let down on defense, allowing 5 different Warsaw players too many looks at the basket for their 15 points in the quarter.  But the 'Dogs held a good 13-point lead heading to the locker room at the half.

Junior center Carissa Triplett scores on a putback while all that her Warsaw defenders can do is watch as the ball heads toward the bucket.

Both teams came out a little sluggish after the half, but CP picked up the tempo and went on a 13-4 run in the first 4:30 of the third to continue to widen the gap.  Six different Bulldogs scored in the quarter, including 7 from junior Alex Webster, 4 from Triplett and a trey by senior Amanda Bernard.  Heading into the last quarter, the Bulldogs had extended their lead to 21 with a 61-40 advantage.

In the last quarter, the Bulldogs nailed the coffin shut starting out with a 7-1 run in the first 2:30 of the quarter.  They finished strong on the scoring of Triplett, Webster, Bernard, Borys and Plumley.  A scary moment occurred when junior Ashley Plumley was literally body-slammed to the ground by a Warsaw defender while going after a rebound.  Plumley made the final statement, however, with a closing bucket right at the buzzer to finish with her best outing of the season so far, which included 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist in 20 minutes of play.

The 'Dogs continue to work hard on defense and are improving with every game.  CP continues to get extremely valuable minutes from the bench from senior La'Kea Harvey and junior Janel Heneghan.  Most important on the evening was the combined efforts of Plumley, Borys and Bernard, who together tallied 24 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals.  Leading scorer on the night was Zondor with 21, who also logged 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the night.  Steals leader was Plumley with 3.
