It wasn't the Bulldogs best outing so far this season, but nevertheless, CP ruled Munster's floor in their first road game to improve to 3-0.  The key to the game was defense, as the 'Dogs grabbed 22 steals from the Mustangs and limited the young and inexperienced Munster squad to 9 points in the second half.

To start the charge, the 'Dogs were off to the races early, when junior Alex Webster picked the pocket of a Munster guard and got the ball to teammate Amanda Bernard for a quick layup just one minute into the game.  Buckets by Sarah Zondor, Carissa Triplett, Webster and a free throw by junior Janel Heneghan paced the 'Dogs in the first half for 16 points and a 7-point lead.  Bernard worked the wing, getting two steals, two rebounds and two assists in the quarter to go with her two points.

In the second, the 'Dogs continued their scoring ways, but the Mustangs picked up their scoring slack to stay in it.  Webster continued to hound the inexperienced Munster backcourt, and had 8 steals by the half.  Zondor took care of the Bulldog charge by scoring 9 points in the quarter with additional scoring help from Heneghan, Bernard and Webster, and Triplett swatted away a Munster attempt for good measure on the defensive end.  Heading into the locker room at the half, the 'Dogs were in control by 10.

In the third, Webster and Zondor continued to wreak havoc on the Munster ballhandlers, combining for 5 steals, and Zondor again took the lead in scoring with 6 points in the quarter.  Nikki Borys made her presence a problem in the post for the Mustangs with a putback and several rebounds.  The defense was doing its job, as Munster did not even get a single point on the board until over halfway through the quarter on two free throws.  By the end of the third, CP expanded its lead to 15.

The final quarter was a tribute to the 'Dogs defense, as Munster could only muster three points from the charity stripe.  CP scoring by Triplett, Borys and a trey by Webster closed the deal, and the 'Dogs walked away with their third win of the season.
