This is our 7th year of bringing our choices to you for the best girls in the state.

Over 212 girls coaches from around the state took the time to list the top girl players in their area, or in many cases, the entire state. Many coaches just flat out said, they were more comfortable choosing girls in their area that they have personally seen over the course of the last 3 years. Also, over 236 boys coaches have given me their selections for the boys selections.

To all the coaches I say, THANK YOU!

To preface this list, I would like to say that for the first time in 7 years I am not sure there is one girl any better in all phases of the game than any other. So, I am going to list the Top 8 Girl players whom I think are capable of winning the prestigious Indianapolis Star-Indiana Ms. Basketball player honor.

They are, in no particular order and in my humble opinion; Christiana Cunningham-Perry Meridian, Janese Banks-Ben Davis, Jaclyn Leininger-Warsaw, Rebekah Parker– Tippecanoe Valley, Robyn Stone-Lawrence North, Julie DeMuth-Merrillville, Adrienne Squires-Indian Creek and Rachel Kenney of Mooresville.

I am sure each of these young women understand that to achieve that honor they are going to have bring their A game every night this season. Whether their talent be in rebounding, assisting their team members, defense, on court and off court behavior, scoring, whatever their forte may be.

To each of these young women Good Luck and have a great season .

I have divided the Senior class into 6 groups of 15 and 1 of 16 players who have proven their worth on and off the court during their years at their respective high schools. Each community should be proud of each and every young lady mentioned.

They have rightfully deserved this preseason honor.
